Salary of £700 per annum, and then grants him half that salary, £350, & half of Mr Moorbon's Salary, £500, total £850. Mr Walker's letter of the 27th Sept? shews that for Mr du? Hardy will lose all military pay and allowance, I do not think that Sir A. Kennedy could have made a better arrangement. It is quite certain that Mr du? Hardy would not have accepted on the mere half pay of our Surveyor.
I did not intend to consult the War office, as the military side of the question appears to have been settled in the Colony by Mr du? Hardy's superiors.
